Modern life has done something strange and devastating to
human connection. It has collapsed the village...
- the web of relationships that used to hold us - into one or two people and called it enough. A partner. A best friend. A therapist. And we have accepted this because we didn't know what we were missing.
But somewhere in us, we remember. We remember that humans were never meant to get all their needs met from one source. We remember that healing happens in community, not just in conversation. We remember the warmth of being known by more than one person. Of having a place to go. Of belonging to something that didn't require us to perform or succeed or explain ourselves from the beginning.
That is what we are rebuilding. Not metaphorically. Literally.
Village of Choice is a live, warm, human gathering for people who are done being lonely in plain sight.
We built this for the diaspora. For the Indian in New Zealand who speaks three languages but belongs fully to none. For the Croatian in Iceland who misses a version of home that doesn't exist anymore. For the Tamil in London. For the person who moved three suburbs from their parents and still can't figure out why every Sunday dinner feels like a negotiation.
We built this for the stay at home mother who has so much wisdom and no room to share it. For the person who is thriving professionally and quietly falling apart personally. For the one who has good people around them and still feels profoundly alone.
We built this for everyone who has ever sat in a room full of people and felt like a stranger.
You are not broken. You are not too much. You are not too complicated for connection. You just haven't found your village yet
